Began his professional career with Ashwill-Burke, a commercial real estate developer. Later he joined Wells Fargo Bank’s entertainment group. Then, moving to American Savings, in just a few months he was promoted to American’s real estate management team. There, he helped re-engineer American’s real estate operations. A skilled problem-solver, Mangelsdorf managed the Thrift’s special assets, asset management, and record-setting REO sales.
As one of the first to join the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC), Mangelsdorf became a U.S. Congressionally appointed receiver, stationed in Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Newport Beach, and Washington, D.C. While on detail to the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, Mangelsdorf helped RTC establish itself, achieve its record-setting goals, and then sail into its timely sunset.
Together with Walt Disney’s Chief Imagineer and KPMG's Managing Partner, Mangelsdorf opened Imersiv, a theme park company. They merged into the Auburn Companies, which includes Auburn Financial, Auburn Business Brokers, and Auburn Properties, all real estate service venues.
Today, Hans Mangelsdorf has acquired, designed, financed, built, renovated, managed, restructured, leased, and disposed of more than 40,000 assets worth some $400 billion. With his high ethical standards, confidence gained from real-life experience, and ability to make tough decisions, Mangelsdorf provides insight and value to clients located around the world.
